For our club members, this is one of the most anticipated moments of the year—the annual release of our Pinot Noir! And this year we selected central CA.
In the legendary Monterey County, the windswept terraces of the Santa Lucia Highlands offer one of the most celebrated terroirs for Pinot Noir. Cradled above the Salinas Valley with direct coastal influence from Monterey Bay, this region brings together sun-drenched days and brisk marine evenings—conditions that allow Pinot Noir to thrive slowly and gracefully. The result is a wine of poise and elegance, where vibrant fruit, silky texture, and natural acidity find their perfect harmony.
Our 2023 Vive La Soul Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir is a stunner. Ruby-hued and translucent in the glass, it opens with expressive aromas of ripe cherry, wild strawberry, and rose petal, laced with subtle notes of forest floor and baking spice. The palate is pure and polished, layering juicy red berries with hints of black tea, pomegranate, and a touch of toasted oak. The tannins are fine and silky, and the finish is long, smooth, and soulful—just like the name suggests.

This is a wine that truly lives up to its name—Vive Le Rock. It’s a bold, uncompromising Cabernet Sauvignon-Malbec blend sourced from the aptly named Soaring Eagle Vineyard in Columbia Valley—a place that seems to float above the landscape, wind-whipped and wild.
From the first pour, you know this one’s going to fly. It’s deep, dark, and electric—like a power chord struck through a Marshall amp. Blackcurrant, wild berries, and crushed volcanic rock come roaring in, grounded by hints of cocoa, tobacco leaf, and a whisper of smoked leather. There’s a rawness here, but also polish—big and muscular, yet smooth and composed, like a great band just hitting their groove. The Malbec adds an unexpected backbeat—lively, juicy, and just a little dangerous.
And the label? That’s a statement in itself. Created by our dear friend and legendary rock artist Nick Egan, it features a rock rebel who looks like they might’ve stepped out of a Led Zeppelin gig in ’77 and landed right on your bottle. We fell in love with this piece the moment we saw it—it’s visceral, loud, and alive, just like the wine inside.
