Meet The Artist - Nick Egan
With international acclaim for art direction and design, British film director Nick Egan combined his understanding of visual language into an iconic form of punk rock imagery that would be distinctive and influential in some of the most celebrated album covers, fashion lines, and music videos.
Born in London, while still attending school, he began designing covers for historic bands like The Clash, The Ramones and The Dexy’s Midnight Runners, for which he would have his first hit cover ‘Searching for the Young Soul Rebels’. He soon began forming a friendship with entrepreneur Malcolm McLaren, the former Sex Pistols’ manager, and was asked by McLaren to design artwork for the band’s album cover ‘Bow Wow Wow’s See Jungle’ which was recently voted # 10 of the top 100 covers of all times by Rolling Stones Magazine. Nick continues to design album covers and create music videos for some of the most recognizable and influential musicians, including the Mindi Abair, Duran Duran, Psychedelic Furs, Iggy Pop, INXS, Bob Dylan, The Cult, The Pretenders and more.

WINE NOTES
We have our first non-California AND first single-estate wine!
We know that wines from Washington, especially Cabs and Syrahs, can be worldclass... and for years we have been searching for a winemaking partner that can make them at the level we require for our members. After tasting literally hundreds of wines over four years, we came across this incredible wine that was sitting alone in just a few barrels.
Introducing your 2021 Vive Le Rock Columbia Valley “McNary Ranch Estate” Cabernet Sauvignon, a wine that is superior in all ways. This family-owned perfectly manicured estate sits on top of basalt cliffs overlooking the Columbia River (see pictures on our website) giving the wine the perfect place for warm days and river-cooled nights, all leading to excellent structure, complexity and finesse. On first sip you will notice that it is confident but elegant (think James Bond 007.) It has dark black cherry and blackberry notes, with an earthy almost wet cedar profile and a creamy oak finish. We hope to make this wine each year and keep it as a mainstay in our portfolio... but for now sip, savor, turn up the rock ‘n’ roll playlist and enjoy!

You may have noticed that Vive Le Rock has a brand new look. Framing our renowned rock star image, painted by our friend and rock artist Nick Egan, has allowed us to showcase the wine origins in a more upscale, wine geeky way. And we added a little gold logo to the top, just to keep it edgy. We hope you love this new design as much as we loved creating it.
I believe music + art live as one. Think of your favorite album covers. The artwork supports and sometimes defines the music on the record. In every aspect, the art completes and elevates your entire experience. The design for this label is by one of my favorite artists. He’s created album artwork and videos for Mick Jagger, Bob Dylan, Duran Duran, The Clash, The Ramones, Alanis Morisette, INXS, Sex Pistols, Iggy Pop, The Cult, Mindi Abair and The Boneshakers, and many more. He’s a close friend, and just a stunning creative mind. Nick painted and created the artwork for this label using black ink only. The figure he painted playing guitar is in full rock ’n’ roll stance on stage. And he made swirls and spatters of ink around him that amplify his energy. It drips with power. And Nick penned the title for this wine, Vive le Rock, in his own handwriting. This wine is rock ‘n’ roll with swagger for days, and Nick’s image and artwork exemplifies that in every way.
The paired music playlist will only amplify (and I mean with your amplifier on 11) this amazing wine. Feel the abandon, the interplay of guitar, bass and drums, and the unbridled power from the music. It’s the perfect pairing for this complex big red that we love so much.
