It was 2005 and I was managing the prestigious Napa Valley gem, Mumm Napa Winery… and this is where my love affair with bubbles started.

When I get asked the question, “What is your favorite wine?”, I answer, “Sparkling wine, of course. It is the most expressive, exacting, intellectual and artistic wine in the world. It is like tasting the stars.”

There are many different types of sparkling wine in the world. Factors like where it is grown (Champagne of France, Prosecco of Italy, Sparkling Wine of CA) to how it is crafted all dictate the style and quality. So, it was important for us to find the highest quality bubbles crafted here in California, using the finest grapes and most expert traditional methods found in the legendary region of Champagne… and this sparking wine has risen up to our lofty standards and expectations.

Sparkling wine is the only wine that touches ALL of your senses, those of sight, smell, taste and sound (the bubbles). And a superior quality sparkling wine does this with grace, elegance and excellence.

Pour into a champagne flute and let’s explore this wine together.

First put your ear up to the glass… it’s speaking to you with its fizz, the only wine in the world that can do this. Next gaze into the super fine bubbles as they release diligently to the surface. A beautiful, pale pink to salmon color resembling the delicate petals of a rose. The nose is inviting and complex, offering a bouquet of red berries, such as strawberries and raspberries, along with subtle floral notes like rose petals. On the palate, it is lively and crisp that refreshes the senses. It showcases flavors of fresh red fruits, particularly strawberries and raspberries, which provide a delightful sweetness. There's a delicate balance between the fruitiness and a touch of minerality, lending it elegance and structure.

Our first sparkling wine… and one of the finest you can find in California. Time to celebrate!

Artwork Notes

Champagne and sparkling wines are always celebratory. They are beautifully expressive and sophisticated, and we wanted to reflect that beauty and sophistication in the label artwork. Eric and I sat for hours creating beautiful deep golden swirls that would embellish the classic lettering. We chose a font that was French leaning in feel to pay homage to the Méthode Champenoise that was used to create this beautiful sparkling wine. And we chose a thick, sparkling paper stock that would reflect all of this beauty. To cap it all off, we added a matching deep gold capsule to the top, the crowning touch of elegance for this incredible sparkling wine.

MUSIC

I drink Champagne and sparkling wine at parties, celebrations, awards ceremonies, birthdays, concerts, and well, sitting at home just celebrating life. The bubbles, the taste, the pomp and circumstance … it’s the ultimate celebration in a drink. I chose music that reflects that spirit of celebration. Music is the ultimate spirit lifter, celebration maker, dance floor starter, and complement to this incredible sparkling wine. Celebrate good times, c’mon!
