When we began searching for another white wine… we realized that it wasn’t easy. Our first club release, the 2018 Treble Clef Napa Valley Chardonnay released back in Fall 2019, was such an overachiever, it was like trying to find the second performer following Tina Turner. You see, we love more fruit driven white wines without all the oak and butteriness. We know it showcases the higher quality fruit and superior vineyard sourcing. And, after tasting over 47 different white wines, and beginning to believe we would never find treble clef’s sister, we tasted this wine… and we were in love all over again. ❤️

A 2018 Napa Chardonnay, it embraces the same superior fruit qualities as Treble Clef with just a subtle ‘bam’ of more French oak, giving the great fruit a platform to shine, but relaxing on a beautiful layer of vanilla creaminess only found from barrels born in France. To find this fruit-to-oak balance is extremely difficult in a luxury Chardonnay, and this wine showcases its worthy talents. The nose is of newly cut green apples, fresh white flowers and the touch of French oak. Then the taste… hold it in your mouth for a few moments, close your eyes and enjoy the layers of crisp apple, ripe banana, vanilla bean and an ever so subtle butteriness. Elegant, fresh fruit, bright, all upon a bed of creaminess that make this wine so very expressive and special. Drink it with food, or don’t, but definitely while listening to Mindi’s new song FOREVER. That’s my awesome girl.

How do you tie together a particular wine style with a song? Sometimes you have to embrace the obvious, and I did that this time by visually placing the actual sound wave of the song right on the label. In early 2020 in a pre-pandemic world, I went into the studio with some friends and some of the finest session musicians in the world to create my 12th album. With a notebook full of songs I had written with my friends, I headed into this album with a lot of excitement, knowing that each song is a snapshot in time and expression of my musical journey over so many years. This is my first solo endeavor since my album “Wild Heart” in 2014. A week later, emerging from the sheer joy of the recording studio, I knew we created one of my best albums yet… and walked out into a world on the brink of being shut down. For many months, I was unsure of what to do with these new songs we were all so proud of… so, I sheltered in place, stayed safe and knew the right time would come to release this new music.

This is a very special design for me, as it is a visual artistic statement of my newly released song “Forever.” Go ahead and run your finger down the wave on the label. You will feel the glossy texture we carefully layered in so you can feel the tactile expression of each B3 organ chord, drum beat and saxophone melody. This sound wave is the waveform for the entire song “Forever.” It’s all in there. Visually it’s what I look at when I’m mixing the song and seeing it as a whole. This wine is a classic. This song for me is a classic. It’s me coming back to my roots as an instrumentalist with soaring melodies, a confident attitude and a hopeful bright feeling. It is a career song for me, and one that will stand the test of time. We should all strive to create something timeless that’ll last forever. This is it. And this is a stellar wine that will pair perfectly with it. This playlist is full of songs recorded by artists and friends with staying power and songs that have become Smooth Jazz classics. They are songs with that “it” factor that have made them classics. They are songs that will last forever in our hearts.

This playlist is full of songs that have inspired me as an instrumentalist over the years. Many of these artists are my friends and contemporaries. Every song on this list is a Smooth Jazz classic. It takes something special to write and/or record a song that stands the test of time in any genre. These artists are all inspiring, and all of these songs make me feel so good. They put a smile on my face, and they’ll last forever in my heart.
