SUPPORTING AND GUIDING THE FUTURE OF MUSIC
By Mindi Abair
The Recording Academy’s Grammy Museum
I served as an elected official for the Recording Academy on the Board of Governors, as the President of the Los Angeles Chapter, and as a National Trustee for over 10 years. I became involved with The Recording Academy after playing a GRAMMY Week event celebrating women. I realized that the money raised went to the Recording Academy’s charitable arm that gave students resources and opportunities for music education in schools. I jumped at the chance to go speak to the students, play for them, and help inspire them. That led me into a 10+ year journey into serving in so many ways to encourage our organization and lead our efforts to keep and strengthen music in the schools. The GRAMMY Museum is the charitable arm of The Recording Academy that leads those efforts, and it’s very close to my heart. This is the charitable organization that will profit from the proceeds of this wine.

If you've ever been to downtown Napa and happened to look east toward Atlas Peak, you were glancing over one of the finest growing areas for Cabernet Sauvignon in this famous region, that being Coombsville.
I've been fortunate to manage many wineries in Napa Valley and I have noticed that visitors typically will drive north to the more famous wine regions. What they tend to miss, that we all know in the wine industry, is that this incredible little region nestled up next to downtown Napa is home to some of the more famous Cabernet wineries.
The climate is moderated by the Bay which makes it 10° cooler here. The fog settles in early and burns off later in the day giving these special grapes a long growing season and time to reach their full ripeness… and flavor bomb concentration, if you will.
At first glance you will notice the tremendous dark inkiness that seems to have an ocean depth that goes on forever. Welcome to Napa Valley Cabs. On our first glass, what we fell in love with was this incredible violet bouquet on the nose integrated so beautifully with dark black cherry and a touch of green spice like tarragon. Very reminiscent of Bordeaux, France.
The taste you will notice is so engaging, like the first date with someone you know you will fall in love with. The acidity is bright, given its proximity to the Bay, with a tremendous richness to the dark black cherry woven together with slight spice. The texture is incredibly refined with elegant tannins and a super long finish. It is unbelievable in every sense that a Napa wine can be.
Enjoy one of the finest expressions of a Coombsville, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon you may ever find.
Cheers - Eric 🍷
